Dr. Vishal Sharma, Metonia Inc.
Dr. Vishal Sharma is an international technology consultant, educator, academic and speaker, who has worked with clients on four continents. He is involved in consultancy, research, and development in broadband wireline/wireless IP networks, systems architecture, and network planning and design, having worked in advanced networking for the past 15+ years. Specifically, he has focused on the design of very high-speed ATM networks,the analysis and construction of multi-gigabit IP routers, extensions to MPLS for non-packet technologies, ways to design and build efficient IP and broadband wireless networks, security issues in 3G cellular data networks. He earned a B. Tech. (EE) degree from IIT Kanpur, and MS (Signals), MS (Computer Engineering) and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and is a Senior Member of the IEEE and a Fellow of the IETE.

Srinivas Mulugu
Srinivas Mulugu is an independent consultant based in Hyderabad. He has previously worked as Network Consultant at both Cisco Systems and Juniper Networks. He worked with the Service Providers in India and SAARC countries , in evolving Internet backbone architectures appropriate to the existing infrastructure. Earlier in his career , Mr Mulugu was with the Internet Engineering Group of Sprint ( SprintLink ) in Reston , Virginia. He was the lead engineer for building the backbone of a national Intranet ( Sprint DialNet ). Sprint DialNet , with over eighty high-end routers , was engineered to connect four hundred cities across the United States. The backbone formed the basis for Sprint's Internet Service offering , called Sprint Passport. It also supported dial-up access to America On-Line , a popular Internet access provider with several million customers. Subsequently , Mr. Mulugu worked with 3Com , at Princeton , NJ. He worked with several business , educational , medical and research institutions , designing network infra-structure to meet their computing needs. His research work in Data communications includes development of a network simulator for analysis and performance prediction , and designing and developing a prototype Object Oriented Network Management System for a satellite-based network , while working with University of Maryland's Institute for Systems Research , in conjunction with Hughes Network Systems , Germantown , Maryland. He has an MS in Electrical Engineering , specialising in Computer Networking , and an MBA , both from University of Maryland , College Park. His work in the area of Data communications and computer networking spans eight years in various capacities.

Dr. Philip Smith, Cisco
Philip Smith has been with Cisco Systems since 1998. He is part of the
Internet Architectures Group in Corporate Consulting Engineering. His role
includes working with many ISPs in the Asia Pacific region, specifically
in network design, configuration, scaling and training.

Prior to joining Cisco, he spent five years at PIPEX (now part of UUNET's
global ISP business), the UK's first commercial Internet Service Provider.
He was one of the first engineers working in the commercial Internet in
the UK, and played a key role in building the modern Internet in Europe.

Bill Woodcock, Research Director, PCH
Bill Woodcock is a pioneering Internet policy maker, who specializes in the creation, promotion, and implementation of economically efficient technologies to stimulate the growth of Internet traffic in both developed and developing countries. A founder and research director of Packet Clearing House, a non-profit research institute investigating Internet routing economics, Woodcock has also successfully operated several commercial ventures in the Internet connectivity and content distribution space. Hervey Allen,
Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC)

Hervey Allen works for the Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC). The NSRC provides technical information, engineering assistance, training, equipment, and educational materials to network operators at research and education institutions and Internet Service Providers in countries with limited Internet infrastructure. Over the past few years Hervey has taught network-related and systems administration workshops for SANOG, AfNOG, PacNOG, as well as with ISOC in a series of ccTLD trainings and at several specific events in Africa, Latin America and Asia. Before joining the NSRC Hervey graduated from the University of Oregon in Computer Science. He has run and built help desks at Pomona College and the University of Oregon, was a System Engineer with Turbolinux, Inc. and worked with several non-profit organizations building their technical infrastructure.

Champika Wijayatunga, APNIC
Champika is Senior Trainer at Asia Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC) and has extensive experience in running training and tutorials on topics related to Internet.

V. Anil Kumar
Anil Kumar is a researcher at C-MMACS, National Aerospace Laboratories, in Bangalore, India

Devdas Bhagat, Out Blaze
Devdas Bhagat is works for Outblaze, and is well known in the Anti-SPAM circles. He is also a long time member and contributor to the Bangalore Linux Users Group - the largest such group in India.

Amante Alvaran, APNIC
Amante is Trainer at APNIC. Previously he worked as a system and network administrator at Globe Telecom in Philippines. Amante has more than five years of experience in operations of ISP network including BGP, DNS and security.

Cecil Goldstein, APNIC
Cecil Goldstein is training manager at APNIC. Before APNIC, he worked for over a decade in the academic network environment in Australia. His expertise include network operations and security forensics.

Gaurab Raj Upadhaya, PCH
Gaurab Raj Upadhaya, is currently employed as Internet Economics Analyst / Staff Engineer, at Packet Clearing House (www.pch.net), a research non-profit based in Berkeley, California. Gaurab's primary work is in Internet backbone operations, analysing peering relationships between operators and roles of Internet Exchange Points in different parts of Asia. Much of the work involves training ISPs in developing countries about best practices on network operations. He also runs the PCH INOC-DBA (www.pch.net/inoc-dba) hotline phone system for service providers. He initiated the Nepal Internet Exchange (npIX) and currently serves as its voluntary CEO.
