Travelling to Nepal
Pokhara is a short domestic flight from Kathmandu. Most International participants will fly to Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, either a short domestic flight or take a very nice scenic six hours bus ride to Pokhara.
Kathmandu is well connected by air. Direct flights are operated from Thimpu, Delhi, Bombay, Calcutta, Bangalore, Varanasi, Chengdu, Lasha, Dhaka, Karachi, Bangkok, Singapore, Hongkong, Shanghai, Osaka, Kualalumpur, Dubai, Doha, Abhu Dabhi, Sharjah and Bahrain. Connecting flights all over the world are provided by operating airlines.
Some Major International airlines operating scheduled flights to Kathmandu are Nepal Airlines, Druk Air, Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, GMG, Pakistan International Airlines, Thai Airways, Silkair, Dragon Air, China Southern, Air China, Qatar Airways, Gulf Airlines, Air Arabia, Orient Thai, Yeti Airlines, Etihad Airlines etc.
Daily Connecting flights from London and most of western Europe is available via Doha, Abu Dhabi , New Delhi. Connecting flights to Asia Pacific region is readily available on Thai Airways in Bangkok, Silkair in Singapore and Dragon Air in Hongkong. Direct flights to North America is available through Doha, New Delhi, Singapore, Hongkong and Bangkok.
Five Airlines fly between cities in India and Nepal.
Early booking is suggested to avoid problems. A travel desk will be available during the conference period for sightseeing tours.
Travelling to Pokhara
Pokhara is a short domestic flight from Kathmandu.We will soon orgnaize a dedicated travel agent for SANOG 18 participants coming to Nepal for booking their domestic flights or bus ride. Group of participants can also book Taxis or Vans.
